All beds in Munroe Heart’s new 14-bed cardiovascular intensive care unit are enclosed, providing patients with much-needed peace and privacy. Outside the patients’ rooms is a staff station that allows nurses to stay close at hand so they can monitor patients and quickly respond to their needs. This is also where they chart information, check patient history and medications, and review doctors’ orders.

For the family, the visitor’s lounge (which was donated by the Order of the Eastern Star, Grand Chapter of Florida) is spacious and comfortable. There is also physician’s consult room where the doctor may take a patient’s family to speak with them in private and a family sleep room that allows families with very sick relatives to spend the night.
